"Pancakes on the table every other day!" Maslenitsa is celebrated brightly and on a grand scale in Grodno

Tatyana Kapitsa came to the holiday with her little daughter. “I really liked it, I was pleasantly surprised by the scale, musicality and colorfulness. People are all happy, with smiles, it’s wonderful,” the young woman shared. “We love pancakes, we experiment with fillings. And traditionally during Maslenitsa week we baked a lot of the main dish, everyone day,” said Tatyana Kapitsa. “We are for our children to know as much as possible about the national holiday, to know the traditions of Maslenitsa, the dishes. And therefore we tell children about it in a playful way,” said Victoria Mankevich, who is the DIRECTOR of an interactive thematic platform for children at the Grodno holiday. She shared that her two sons love Maslenitsa and pancakes. “That’s why we have pancakes on the table every other day, not even during Maslenitsa week. They like thin ones, with fish, with condensed MILK and more. And today, by the way, was no exception - I’ve been baking pancakes for the children since the very morning,” said Victoria Mankevich . Larisa Khatko also came to “Grodno RazGulyai” with her husband. “I haven’t missed a single holiday in our city. Look, what a gorgeous holiday, the whole city has gathered. Everyone is smiling, joyful, happy, in good spirits. Today I would like to wish everyone a peaceful sky, fragrant bread, clean water and no trouble.” - said the woman. She revealed her signature recipe, according to which she always bakes pancakes at home: “Four eggs , six tablespoons of FLOUR, half a liter of milk, a spoonful of sunflower oil, a little SUGAR, a little SALT, you can add a little soda. Shake all this well - and The pancakes turn out exceptional!" “Maslenitsa is the most wonderful national holiday! Today the weather is like this! The sun is shining! Nature itself is happy! So many people joined the holiday today. In general, thanks to our city authorities, who are doing all this for the people, for the people!” - noted Grodno resident Anna Korol. The woman added: “I don’t bake pancakes very often, but this year I tried harder than ever. I read recipes and my husband and I baked at least a little, but different ones and with different fillings.”



Festival locations are located in the open air on Grodno squares, streets and in the park named after. Gilibert. There are seven holiday farmsteads operating on the central streets of the regional center. Each one presents Maslenitsa traditions by day of the week: “Meeting”, “Flirting”, “Gourmet”, “Wide”, “Mother-in-law’s evening”, “Sister-in-law’s gatherings” and “Farewell to Maslenitsa”.
The holiday brought together a large number of diverse venues. Thus, for the residents and guests of Grodno there are the sites “Maslenitsa motorcycle-automobile”, “Burn, burn clear, only - SAFE!”, the cultural and sports site “Razdolie”, a petting zoo and an exhibition of decorative dogs, and also “Happy spring steam! ", where anyone can visit the bathhouse for free.
The culmination of the holiday will be the burning of the effigy at 18:00.
