As part of a working trip to Brest, the Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko visited JSC "Savushkin Product"

July 7, Brest. Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko spoke about the development of the dairy industry in the country during a working trip to Brest on July 7, BelTA has learned.

Roman Golovchenko, assessing the situation in the processing industry, remembered the saying: we survived hunger - we will survive abundance. “That is, we really need to experience abundance now, because we have pumped up capacities very decently. This, by the way, is one of the achievements of Belarus in previous years. We saw it with our own eyes today. Savchyts - BELTA) said that the company processed 70 tons of MILK per day in 1998. Today it processes 2.4-2.5 thousand tons. ", said the prime minister.

He noted that there are certain problems, including increased stocks. But this, according to Roman Golovchenko, is not the main thing now. "We have revenue from the sale of dairy products - Br12 billion. EXPORT of dairy products - about $ 3 billion. In order not only not to lose, but to increase this revenue, we need to understand what is happening in neighboring markets, what is the situation in terms of marketing policy, in general development strategy," the Prime Minister stressed.

He noted that for a long time Belarusian manufacturers had rather soft conditions that allowed them to work with high profitability on the Russian market. However, the situation is changing, competition is intensifying. “It was not for nothing that the HEAD of state called on manufacturers to go to the markets of other countries, to diversify. Now we understand how important this is. Of course, the Russian market is the most acceptable and familiar for us, we will always work on it. rule the roost on the Russian market," Roman Golovchenko said and added that Belarusians are ready to compete with other manufacturers.

In particular, Belarusian enterprises are practically monopoly suppliers of butter and cheeses in large packages to RUSSIA. "But other manufacturers are coming, our own industry is developing, milk production in Russia is growing. What are we doing? We are entering other markets, we are going into the production of new products, into advanced processing. Instant milk formulas, lactoferrins, milk protein whey, and so on - it can be said high-tech products of milk processing. I think it will take a very long time to develop these niches. We will definitely find a use and market for all the milk that will be produced in the country," summed up Roman Golovchenko.
