
June 3, Minsk. Belarus is interested in the development of Eurasian economic integration in the field of agriculture. This was discussed at a working meeting of Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Alexander Subbotin and Minister of Agriculture and Food Ivan Krupko with Artak Kamalyan, member of the Board (Minister) for Industry and Agro-Industrial Complex of the EEC, BelTA informs citing the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
"Belarus is interested in the development of Eurasian economic integration in such areas as forecasting, state support for agriculture, ensuring food security of the EAEU, circulation of warehouse certificates, production of organic products, uniform rules for the circulation of crop and livestock products," the press service said.
The meeting discussed the development of a draft agreement on the rules for issuing, circulation and redemption in the EAEU of warehouse receipts for agricultural products, as well as a strategy for developing the sugar market of the EAEU member states. In addition, the topic of ensuring food security of the Union countries was touched upon.
The trade turnover of agricultural products and food products between Belarus and the EAEU member states in 2020 amounted to $6.1 billion, and in January-March 2021 it reached $1.5 billion. The export of Belarusian food to the Eurasian Economic Union in the first quarter of this year amounted to $ 1.2 billion. Deliveries of milk and dairy products, meat and meat products, eggs, fruits and berries, potatoes were carried out. Imported mainly tea, coffee, confectionery, vegetable oil, vegetables and gourds, fish and fish products.
