April 7, MINSK. Belarus is considering the possibility of establishing an enterprise for the processing of powdered MILK in Cuba. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister Leonid Zayats, BelTA has learned.

"The agricultural sector in Belarus is a fundamental component of our economy. We will be useful to your state in terms of cooperation, including new advanced technologies in all areas of activity, as well as organizing deliveries. In fact, Belarus is provided with domestic products at 90%. We import only that products that do not grow in Belarus, such as coffee, tea and bananas.In addition to providing the domestic market, our country is also seriously working on foreign markets.Thus, our consumers and partners are 100 countries of the world, and the volume of exports of agricultural raw materials and products in 2022 amounted to over $8 billion- stressed Leonid Zayats addressing the Cuban delegation.

He also added that all Belarusian industrial enterprises are certified and allowed to manufacture and sell products. For processing, our country produces high-quality raw materials, which undergo strict sanitary control in the same way as finished products.

“To date, there have been no complaints from any country about the quality of our products, because we have been working according to standards since Soviet times. We hope to ensure the supply of products such as milk powder, whole milk powder, and skimmed milk to the Cuban market. , we have a plan to create an enterprise for the processing of powdered milk in Cuba.If there is an agreement on laying 50 thousand tons of milk, then we are ready to consider the possibility of building this plant with the production of a wide range of products - ice cream, cheeses, whole milk products and others. will be an important step in ensuring mutual interests and benefits between our countries," the Deputy Prime Minister said.

Leonid Zayats also focused on the ability of our country to process pork, beef and poultry MEAT. “We need to understand how much meat can be processed and build a strategy accordingly. it would also be possible to supply our products from your country to third countries, because it is always in demand. We are ready to demonstrate our capabilities, provide product tasting and discuss everything with your business," he concluded.

The Cuban side, in turn, expressed interest in exporting seafood, fruits and coffee to Belarus.
