Belarus and Serbia aim to further deepen economic ties in the agricultural sector, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food following talks in Belgrade between Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of Belarus Vladimir Grakun, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Water Economy of the Republic of Serbia Dragan Glamočić, and State Secretary Stana Božović.
The meeting took place during a regular meeting of the intergovernmental Belarusian-Serbian commission on trade and economic cooperation.
The interaction between the two countries' industry departments is defined by an open-ended memorandum of understanding on cooperation in agriculture, which has been in effect for 15 years.
it provides for the exchange of experience, technology, scientific developments, and joint activities to develop the agricultural sector.
In January-April, trade in food products and agricultural raw materials between Belarus and Serbia increased by 8.4% compared to the same period last year. The main

potatoes . Serbian
imports to Belarus include seed corn and oilseeds. Serbia is one of Belarus's key partners in the Balkans. The current free trade agreement and visa-free regime create favorable conditions for expanding business contacts.
During the talks, the parties expressed interest in increasing supplies of Belarusian
MEAT and dairy products to Serbia, as well as expanding the list of accredited Belarusian enterprises authorized to supply food products. The negotiators exchanged information and best practices in areas of mutual interest, from production technology to regulatory frameworks.
It was noted that cooperation between the two countries in the agricultural sector has good prospects for deepening. The Serbian colleagues highly praised the quality of Belarusian products and noted their readiness to expand imports, particularly in the dairy and vegetable sectors. Belarusian dairy products and potatoes are gaining the trust of local consumers due to their high quality and reasonable prices.
The possibility of Belarusian manufacturers participating in exhibitions in Serbia is also being considered, which should help strengthen brand recognition and establish new business connections.
