April 11, Minsk. Belarus plans to increase food exports to $6 billion in 2021, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Aleksei Bogdanov said in an interview with the Nedelya program on the TV channel, BelTA informs.

"This year, we plan to reach the level of $6 billion in food exports, according to our plans, by 2025 we should reach export deliveries in the amount of $7 billion, and we will do this by increasing production. For example, last year we produced 7 .8 million tons of milk, and by 2025 we plan to produce 9.2 million tons, we produce 1.26 million tons of meat of all types - we plan to produce 1.5 million tons by 2025. To do this, we attract both domestic investment and investors from outside," the deputy minister said.

According to him, negotiations are currently underway with Chinese companies that are interested in investing in the construction of dairy and beef farms.

As for the promising sales markets for Belarus, according to Aleksey Bogdanov, domestic food producers are interested in the Asian market, led by China. “We are actively working with China, and at the end of last year, China came in third among all buyers of Belarusian food after Russia and Kazakhstan, overtaking Ukraine. We want to not only increase the volume of supplies in these regions, but also expand the range and range of products. The Algerian market is interesting, because today it is the number one importer of dry dairy products, and in recent years we have been actively involved in the certification of products for the supply of milk there," the deputy head of the department said.
