January 10, MINSK . Belarus and Serbia have expanded the range of goods traded on the exchange, the press service of the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange told BELTA.

Following the trading held on the BUCE, two new items appeared in the structure of the exchange turnover of Belarus and Serbia - herbicides and seeds for sowing. The first deals on the purchase of these goods by Belarusian enterprises were concluded in early January 2025. Until that moment, Serbian companies acted on the BUCE exclusively as importers, purchasing Belarusian sawn timber, dry MILK , butter and cheeses through the exchange .

"In the context of the development of exchange trading, the expansion of the product range is always a positive phenomenon, since this creates the preconditions for increasing mutual trade turnover and the arrival of new participants to the exchange platform. If we talk directly about Serbia, then in 2024 , cooperation with this country noticeably intensified. Thus, compared to 2023, the amount of transactions increased more than 37 times - mainly due to the supply of Belarusian dairy products to the Serbian market. Dry skim milk and dry whole milk were in greatest demand. These items accounted for 64% of sales of Belarusian goods to Serbia," the press service of BUCE said.

Exchange trading in plant protection products, fertilizers and seeds for the domestic market is held at BUCE twice a week. In 2024, the total amount of transactions in these product areas amounted to Br537.2 million, which is 13% more than in 2023. In addition to residents of Belarus, companies from Germany, Denmark and France participated in the trading sessions and made transactions.

JSC "Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange" was established in 2004. The first trades took place in June 2005. The Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange is one of the largest commodity exchanges in Eastern Europe. The main function of the exchange is to assist Belarusian enterprises in exporting products and to assist foreign companies in entering the Belarusian market. The exchange sells metal, timber, agricultural products , industrial and consumer goods of a wide range.
