The Deputy Chairperson noted that the real sector of the Verkhnedvinsk region's economy worked effectively last year. "The district occupies a leading position in the Vitebsk region in terms of growth rates of industrial production and retail turnover.
Revenue from product sales increased by 25%, net profit - more than doubled. Sales profitability amounted to over 8% compared to 2023. All sectors of the district economy made a positive contribution to the overall result. Agricultural production increased by more than 4% compared to 2023, industry - by 25%, trade - by 13%. Agriculture , industry and tourism will be strategic areas . This year we plan to attract a record Br130 million in investments for the district," said the deputy chairman of the district executive committee. The district's agro-industrial sector will focus on increasing
MILK production. This year, a dairy complex will be put into operation in the agro-town of Kokhanovichi, and in 2026, the construction of dairy farms in the village of Dernovichi and the agro-town of Sar'ya will be completed. "A major investment project to organize the production of marbled beef has been launched in the urban settlement of Osveya. In 2026,
it is planned to complete the construction of a complex for raising
cattle for 3,000 heads," Natalia Demeshko said. She said that in the industrial sector, the main emphasis will be placed on the district's leading enterprise, the Verkhnedvinsky Butter and Cheese Factory, which will implement the project as part of the "One District - One Project" initiative. "The plant will create a sour cream production facility, increase production capacity for the manufacture of packaged butter, and also carry out work to expand treatment facilities and increase energy capacity," noted the deputy chairperson of the district executive committee. There will also be something new to offer to guests of the district who prefer to spend their free time in the bosom of nature. This year, work will be completed on expanding the facilities of the Krasny Bor tourist complex - a spa recreation area and new comfortable guest houses will appear here.
The implementation of the planned projects will create more than 100 new jobs. The district also plans to increase
EXPORT deliveries of products from Verkhnedvinsk manufacturers from $65 million in 2024 to $68 million in 2025.
"The socio-economic development strategy gives us a clear idea of how, using the potential of enterprises and the natural and human resources we have, to improve the quality of life of our citizens. A clear five-year plan defines the main vectors of development, and we will work on its implementation," Natalia Demeshko summed up.
