More than 1.8 thousand birds died in a fire in the building of a chicken and egg producer in the north of the Tomsk region

The fire occurred in the building of the producer of chicken MEAT and eggs "Strezhevskaya Ptitsa" in the city of the same name in the Tomsk region, the company said on Tuesday.

“Almost all the birds burned down, only waterfowl remained. We are now in shock, we don’t know what to take on. Somehow, it will be possible to restore the livestock and the building only in the spring,” the representative of the farm said.

He suggested that the fire could have started due to a short circuit in the area of ​​the ventilation system.

According to the press service of the main department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Tomsk region, the fire occurred in a one-story timber building, by the time the first unit arrived, the building was completely engulfed in flames.

Inside the building there were 1,88 laying hens, 574 broilers, 206 quails that died in the fire.

As a result of the fire, the wooden lathing of the roof over the entire area was burned, the ceilings were burned, and the walls inside were burned. The total fire area was 240 square meters. m, its cause is being established, the report says.

Eight people and two pieces of equipment were involved in the elimination of the fire.

According to local media, "Strezhevskaya Ptitsa" belongs to Tatyana Leskovskaya, and has been selling products in the city retail chain of Strezhevoy since 2017.
