The goal of increasing the number of Yakut cattle breeds was exceeded by livestock farmers of Yakutia

As of October 1, 2023, the number of Yakut cattle breed in the republic reached 3,101 heads, of which 1,159 are dairy cows. The organization "Yakut Cattle" is the holder of 42% of all Yakut animals.

On December 6, in the village of Bolugur, Amga ulus, two cowsheds with a total capacity of 130 animals were put into operation. These facilities were built for the “Kullegi” department of the State Enterprise of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) “Yakut Cattle” within the framework of the decree of the HEAD of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) “On strategic directions for the development of agriculture of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).”

The department was named after Dmitry Karmanov, who devoted many years of his life to restoring the population of Yakut cattle.

The opening ceremony of the facilities was attended by members of the family of Dmitry Prokopyevich Karmanov, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) in the period from 2020 to 2023 Mikhail Nikiforov, head of the Amginsky ulus Stepan Kuzmin, head of the Megino-Kangalassky ulus Dmitry Tikhonov, deputy head of the Department of Livestock of the Ministry of Agriculture Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Galina Osipova and managers of the Yakut Cattle departments.

The area of ​​the new 100 head barn is approximately 577.8 square meters. The project investor was Navigator+ LLC.

Another facility, designed to house 30 head of young animals, was built by a construction team of local guys under the leadership of Trofim Okorokov. A government subsidy of 8 million rubles was provided for the construction of this barn.

Today, the Kullegi department houses 125 heads of Yakut cattle , including 47 cows. The company employs 6 people, the manager of the department is Trofim Trofimovich Okorokov.

it should be noted that since 2020, the Yakut cattle company has put into operation 8 new livestock barns located in the Namsky, Mirninsky, Nyurbinsky, Megino-Kangalassky and Amginsky uluses. The total capacity of these barns is 790 head of cattle.
