In six years, a modern enterprise has grown from a family farm

The largest quail farm in Buryatia of the Lyutaev family was established six years ago with support from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food under the Beginner Farmer program.

Today, the number of quails of the Manchurian and Estonian breeds on the farm of Gennady and Natalia Lyutaev in the village of Irkilik, Pribaikalsky district of Buryatia, is close to 4000. They have their own feed mill and their own recipe for poultry feed.

Recently, in buildings where quails are kept, a “smart” sensor was installed that regulates lighting in accordance with the bird's biorhythms. Artificial sunsets and sunrises reduce stress, which has a positive effect on egg production.

Last year, the production of quail eggs amounted to 1.3 million pieces, and the output of quail MEAT - 1,200 kilograms. Last year, farmers launched a second project and now breed meat breeds of chickens. So far, the volume of output of broiler meat is relatively small - 3,000 tons per year, but an output of 20,000 tons is planned. In the future, the Lyutaevs intend to purchase geese, ducks and guinea fowl.

Rural entrepreneurs sell their products under the trademark "Mother Earth": these are organic products without antibiotics and hormones. In addition to eggs and poultry, they produce quail egg noodles, Italian durum wheat pasta, honey and exclusive fertilizers.

The products of the poultry farm are purchased not only by local stores, but also by large retail chains in Ulan-Ude. The e-commerce channel is involved: in May last year, Gennady Lyutaev became the winner of the republican competition in the nomination "For the withdrawal of agricultural business online."
