Over the past year, the Federal Antimonopoly Service of the Russian Federation has initiated 20 antimonopoly cases in the food market

“Naturally, the FAS RUSSIA is adopting all available tools to stabilize prices and taking antimonopoly response measures. In particular, over the last year we have initiated 20 cases. In the food markets, decisions were made on 9 cases, 14 warnings were issued, 11 warnings,” — said Nadezhda Sharavskaya.

According to her, cases are being considered in relation to agricultural producers, wholesale organizations, retail chains, and they are mainly related to cartel agreements between sellers.

“I want to draw attention to the fact that we have both retail and wholesale markets, that is, in the market for the production of agricultural products, that is, food, they are highly competitive, therefore, with antimonopoly response measures, our ability to influence prices in these markets is quite limited.” , added Nadezhda Sharavskaya.
