Over the year, the cost of egg production increased by 18%

The cost of egg production for the year increased by at least 15-18%. This was announced by the executive DIRECTOR of Rincon Management Konstantin Korneev. According to him, the cost price in the industry is constantly growing. The reason for this, the expert called, first of all, a serious increase in prices for feed ingredients.

Korneev said that egg prices change significantly throughout the year: if at the peak the cost in the wholesale link was 7.5-8 rubles. per piece with VAT, then it went down to 3.6-3.7 rubles. per piece with VAT. Later, prices rose slightly again - up to 6.5 rubles. for an egg, the expert noted. According to him, this level is higher than last year, but it does not compensate for all factors of cost growth. According to Rosstat, by November 22, retail eggs were 8.9% more expensive on average than in December last year.

“It is worth noting that no one is creating new investment projects in the sector: the market has long been saturated, and consumption is not increasing,” Korneev said. “The only thing is that during a period of low demand, when there is a seasonal drop in prices in the summer, some poultry farms EXPORT eggs to dampen the decline in the domestic market.” At the same time, Korneev noted that the unpredictable situation with the cost price also affects the lack of new egg processing projects.

Earlier it became known that due to an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza, a large egg producer, the Borovskaya poultry farm, would suspend work. The company's products were withdrawn from sale in 22 regions of RUSSIA. The entire population of birds - 4.3 million - was destroyed. The HEAD of the Tyumen region, Alexander Moor, during the annual message, said that the company plans to maintain production and will be systematically restored. “I reject and refute all speculations regarding the future fate of the factory and the land it occupies. It will be preserved, it will live, production will be systematically restored, ”Kommersant quoted Moor as saying. Eight months of forced downtime is a heavy blow to any business, the governor added. Korneev believes that the falling volumes of the Borovskoye poultry farm will not greatly affect the market. “This is not a broiler production, there you can compensate for the dropping volumes. There is no shortage of eggs on the market,” he commented.

According to Rosstat, in the first ten months, the production of eggs in agricultural organizations amounted to about 30 billion eggs, which is 0.5% more than in the same period last year. According to Korneev, the output of eggs by the end of the year may amount to about 44.88 billion pieces - approximately at the level of domestic consumption. “It takes us quite a bit to export - about 335 million pieces. This is less than 10% of production, so the figure does not affect anything. At the same time, some reduction in exports is possible, because this market is saturated, countries can easily provide themselves with eggs on their own,” Korneev concluded.

In mid-September, retail chains notified the Ministry of Industry and Trade of suppliers' plans to raise prices for chicken MEAT and eggs. This was due to rising costs and costs. Director General of Rosptitsesoyuz Galina Bobyleva then said that enterprises need to restore their profitability. According to her, last year there was a decrease in the production of eggs and poultry meat, but this year the situation has leveled off.
