From July 1, 2021, the order of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of June 22, which prohibits the yard slaughter of small ruminants, comes into force. Now all Khakass farmers are required to send their livestock to licensed slaughterhouses.

The owners of small sheep-breeding farms, alarmed by the hasty actions of the authorities, asked for help from the Association "KFH and Agro-Industrial Complex of Siberia". They believe that the hasty decision will lead to higher prices for lamb and massive falsification of veterinary accompanying documents.

Farmers said that they were actually being forced to use the services of a monopolist - the only Khakasskaya Mutton plant in the entire republic. it is not at all profitable for small entrepreneurs to take several sheep there for slaughter, but otherwise, already on Thursday, veterinarians will stop issuing certificates necessary for trading mutton in the market.

Owners of private backyards and small farms are asking to delay the restrictions for a year. They are ready to come out with such a demand on the government of Khakassia. Irina Voinova, the deputy HEAD of the republic, is called the initiator of the order to ban the yard slaughter of livestock.
