Last Friday, June 14, a new branch of the network of veterinary clinics “Zakharov and Farafontova” opened in the village of Druzhnoe, Guryevsky district, Kaliningrad region.
The clinic has equipment for ultrasound examinations, fluoroscopy, operations and even magnetic resonance imaging. All rooms are equipped taking into account the characteristics of future patients. The new clinic will have about 20 employees, most of whom are highly qualified veterinarians.
Veronika Farafontova, co-owner of a network of veterinary clinics, noted during the opening ceremony that in addition to their main activities, specialists will also be involved in artificial insemination of horses.
This clinic is the second in RUSSIA and the first in the Kaliningrad region, which specializes in the treatment of large farm animals.
This project, unique for the region, was implemented with the support of the Government of the Kaliningrad Region and the Entrepreneurship Support Center. As part of the “anti-sanctions” program launched in 2022, about 19 million rubles of a preferential loan were allocated for the construction and equipment of the facility, which amounted to approximately 40% of the total costs.
During the ceremony, the HEAD of the regional Ministry of Agriculture, Artem Ivanov, emphasized that the implementation of this project is an important step in ensuring a stable veterinary situation in the region and control over animal HEALTH. He noted that the Zakharov and Farafontova veterinary clinic is one of the oldest private medical institutions in the Kaliningrad region and deserves only positive reviews. The head of the Ministry of Agriculture expressed support for the clinic’s initiatives and expressed hope that this project will become a starting point for the development of new technologies for the treatment and breeding of cattle in the region.
The “anti-sanction” program of preferential financing of investment projects in the Kaliningrad region started in November 2022. As a result of the selection, 82 applicants were provided with preferential loans totaling up to 300 million rubles at 2% per annum for up to seven years, with the possibility of deferring payment of the principal debt for three years.
The total budget of the program is 5.8 billion rubles, of which the main part, 5.5 billion rubles, was financed by a federal subsidy received under the state program “Socio-economic development of the Kaliningrad region”. The funds were provided to the region by decision of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Program participants claim the creation of about 2 thousand new jobs as part of the projects.
