In response to this threat, in order to prevent the introduction and spread of infection, two mobile 24-hour checkpoints were organized on the border with the Penza region. These posts are located in strategically important places: in the village of Kashaevo, Insarsky municipal district, and on the P-158 highway in the Ruzaevsky municipal district, where the State Traffic Inspectorate post is located.
Organization of the work of checkpoints
The work of checkpoints is carried out by specialists from several government agencies. These include:
- State Veterinary Committee of the Republic of Mordovia - is responsible for veterinary control and prevention of animal diseases.
- Office of ROSSELKHOZNADZOR - monitors compliance with legislation in the field of veterinary medicine and consumer protection.
- State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Mordovia - ensures road safety and control over compliance with the rules for the transportation of animals and livestock products.
These specialists conduct a thorough inspection of vehicles to prevent the transportation of goods without the necessary veterinary accompanying documents. Particular attention is paid to transport that can transport pigs, poultry and pig products that have not undergone heat treatment.
Prevention of ASF requires an integrated approach. it is important not only to control the movement of animals and products, but also to carry out educational work among farmers and animal owners. The authorities urge the population to follow biosafety rules in their backyards to minimize the risk of infection.
African swine fever poses a serious threat to the pig industry, and the measures taken in the Republic of Mordovia are an important step towards protecting the livestock industry and the region's economy. Effective operation of checkpoints, as well as active cooperation between various government agencies and the population will help minimize risks and ensure the safety of livestock farming in the republic. It is important to remember that only by working together can we combat this threat and preserve the HEALTH of pigs and the well-being of farmers.
