The organization recalled that since October, according to a letter from the Federal Tax Service, VAT on burgers has increased from 10% to 20%. And since this product is the basis of the restaurant menu, the price for it will increase accordingly.
“Burgers are the basis of the “Delicious – period” menu. Taking into account changes in tax legislation, from October 1 we were forced to increase prices for the line of burgers by 10%, i.e. the difference between the old and new VAT rates,” the establishment noted.
The restaurant also emphasized that it does not plan to change the size of the burgers or compensate for the increase in the VAT rate through other items on the menu.
It was reported that the increase in the VAT rate affected not only hamburgers, but also sandwiches, cheeseburgers and other similar products. Previously, these products were included in the category of non-durable bakery products, and therefore were subject to a tax of 10%, the Federal Tax Service clarified.
