The authorities of Primorsky Krai announced that they had eliminated all foci of African swine fever

All foci of African swine fever in Primorsky Krai have been eliminated, the press service of the government of Primorsky Krai reports on Friday. 

"Focuses of African swine fever have been eliminated in Primorye. At the moment, there are no new foci of the disease in the region. According to the state veterinary inspectorate of Primorsky Krai, due to infection, quarantine was introduced in Partizansky, Mikhailovsky, Kavalerovsky, Khasansky districts. EXPORT of any pig products of non-industrial production from of these municipalities is prohibited. The restrictions will be in effect for 30 days," the statement said.

it is specified that veterinarians seized sick animals, carried out disinfection, put up disinfection barriers. In total, according to the government, since the beginning of the year, 20 cases of ASF have been recorded in Primorye, half of them in the wild.

African swine fever is an infectious disease with an incubation period of up to two weeks, its carriers are animals. The virus enters the body through food, wounds on the skin, mucous membranes, insect bites. Cases of human infection have not been registered, but scientists do not exclude such a risk.
