Vladimir Efimov: Moscow has increased the export of finished meat products by almost 21%

According to the results of the first six months of this year, the capital's exporters exported finished MEAT products worth 27.86 million US dollars , which is 20.7% more than in the same period last year, when goods were exported for 23.09 million US dollars and 24.2% higher than in January-June 2019, then Moscow supplied products worth 22.43 million US dollars. This was announced by Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Economic Policy and Property and Land Relations Vladimir Yefimov.

“Earlier, foreign partners mainly imported meat and by-products of the capital's production, in the first half of the year deliveries were made for 29.6 million US dollars. Now there is an increase in demand for finished meat products, in the reporting period, goods were exported for 27.86 million US dollars. The total EXPORT of all Moscow meat products amounted to usd 57.46 million,” said the Deputy Mayor.

He specified that in the first half of 2021, Moscow exported finished meat products to 18 countries. The main importers were neighboring countries - Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan. Moscow also supplies goods to far-abroad markets, including Vietnam, the Republic of Moldova, Panama and Hong Kong.

According to the Mosprom Export Support Center, most of the supplies of finished meat products - about two thirds - are sausages. it is worth noting that the demand for such products has been increasing over the years, so, in the first half of 2021, they were exported by 17.47 million US dollars, in the same period of 2020 - by 14.62 million US dollars, and in January-June 2019 this figure was 13.9 million US dollars.

“If we talk about other types of meat products of the capital's production, I would like to highlight the export of meat and offal. In this product category, frozen beef showed the most significant growth, the supply of which increased from $3.31 million in the first half of 2019 to $11.05 million in the same period of 2021,” said  Alexander , HEAD of the Moscow Department of Investment and Industrial Policy Prokhorov.

In the first six months of 2021, Moscow exporters expanded the geography of supplies of meat and offal by a third - from 14 to 19 world markets. Among them, for example, such countries as Benin and Saudi Arabia. The main sales markets in 2021 were Kazakhstan, CHINA , Uzbekistan, Armenia, Belarus and Hong Kong.

Specialists of the Mosprom Center note that over the past few years China has been among the top five importers of Moscow meat and offal, and in the first half of this year, exports of products to the country increased compared to the corresponding periods of 2020 and 2019 - two and three times, respectively .
