At the Volzhanin poultry farm, located in the Rybinsk district of the Yaroslavl region, birds died - about 300 thousand chickens found themselves in unbearable conditions due to abnormal heat, as the equipment that maintains the microclimate inside the complex, namely fans, broke down. The birds were left without the oxygen they needed. It took at least an hour to restore the equipment, but even this time was enough for the carbon dioxide levels in the poultry houses to reach a critical level.
“The reason was a power outage: fans stopped working in the shops for an hour, about 300,000 chickens died due to lack of oxygen,” the government of the region informed. The birds had to be buried, the local administration of Rosselkhoznadzor
is monitoring the correctness of this procedure . The factory noted that the incident should not affect the cost of production.
