In January-March, 28 thousand tons of livestock and poultry were produced in Dagestan

In the first quarter of 2021, farms of all categories registered in the republic produced 28.1 thousand tons of livestock and poultry meat in live weight.

As of April 1, 2021, the total number of cattle in Dagestan decreased by 3% over the year, to 949.1 thousand. The herd of sheep and goats grew to 4,720 thousand heads (+0.6%). The number of poultry decreased to 4401.5 thousand (-12%) in general and to 611.9 thousand (-25.6%) in agricultural organizations.

The volume of milk received in Dagestan for three months amounted to 154.8 thousand tons - about the same as in the first quarter of 2020. The production of chicken eggs for the year decreased by 1.5% - to 39.4 million pieces.

In March, the volume of output of the agro-industrial complex (including all agricultural producers) in monetary terms amounted to 4,161.4 million rubles, and for the first three months of this year - 10,721.5 million rubles.
