Pig breeding is being revived in Khakassia

After a long break, the first pig-breeding complex appeared in Khakassia. An abandoned farm in the village of Solnechnoye, Ust-Abakansky district, livestock breeders began to restore about a year ago.

According to entrepreneurs, the choice for this abandoned farm was not accidental. This is a former Soviet state farm "Industrial". it was built to last. And although the buildings are obsolete, the infrastructure has been preserved.

Entrepreneur Dmitry Kazakov:

Having traveled all over the territory of Khakassia… there is nothing like it. There are only ruins around, but this complex is able to work. Those who restored that first building for us were pleasantly surprised. The heating wiring was installed back in those times. she was kept there.

To build such pigsties in an open field from scratch, supply electricity, water, and comply with sanitary standards, hundreds of millions of rubles are needed for this. Immediately, it is planned to spend 10-15 million for the entire restoration. Five and a half million were donated to farmers by one of the coal companies. Business in the spring signed an agreement with the government of Khakassia on social and economic cooperation. So far, pig farmers have managed to revive only one building of the pig farm. They gave it to the pigs. Queens, waiting for housewarming, huddle in a shed made of planks. The fattening room for them is still under renovation. An amazing thing is that, having stood unattended for several years, the complex was not subjected to raids by collectors of secondary ferrous metal. Inside, both cast-iron sewer grates and metal pens with feeders have been preserved.

Dmitry Kazakov:

We will enter this building shortly. Left a little. There is already light, there are windows, we will give heat - and that's it.
All pig products in Khakassia are now imported from other regions. Dmitry Kazakov has Napoleonic plans - to feed the republic with home-grown pork. The new farm now has 80 sows and several hundred piglets. By next autumn, the pig farmer plans to increase the total livestock to 3-4 thousand pigs and deliver about 20 tons of his fresh MEAT to local stores every month. In addition, the entrepreneur wants to seriously engage in breeding a thoroughbred herd in the near future and receive the status of a breeding farm.
