In Khakassia, 99% of animals infected with dermatitis nodosa were eliminated

At the moment, 99 percent of the livestock have already been liquidated. Of these, 923 heads of cattle , 264 pigs and 1798 units of small ruminants. 95 local residents submitted documents for compensation. In total, they will receive 61 million rubles; 47.4 million have already been paid.

There are 151 infected animals left , the owners refuse to give them up for destruction. This prevents farmers from completing anti-epizootic measures.

Gulnara Kerimova said that the disease is spreading everywhere. Even if livestock appears healthy, they can become ill without symptoms and carry the virus for another three years. The virus attaches itself to them and looks for new “victims” to spread further. In such circumstances, all animals have to be destroyed.

Owners who refuse to give up livestock are asked to fill out an application for voluntary consent to dispose of the animals. Otherwise, according to the law, the farm will be taken away forcibly and without payment of compensation.

After burning all the animals, the countdown of 28 days will begin in Bograd.

During this period, all buildings will be processed and the remaining grass in the fields where the cattle were located will be burned. Then they will transfer the documents to Rosselkhoznadzor of Russia so that they approve the bringing of animals to the village.
