According to the Veterinary Committee of the Volgograd Region, since the beginning of this year, new cases of infection of farm animals with brucellosis have been registered in the region. In 2020, cases of the disease occurred in Svetloyarsky, Leninsky, Staropoltavsky, Serafimovichsky, Pallasovsky and Sredneakhtubinsky districts. In 2021, brucellosis was recorded in 20 farm animals.
If cases of infection are detected, enterprises and farms are covered for quarantine. Sick animals are not treated, but completely eliminated.
A person can contract brucellosis through raw MILK , dairy products, and undercooked MEAT. Also, the manure of an infected animal can become a source of infection.
The disease is indicated by malaise, headache, poor appetite, pain in the joints and muscles, temperature 37.1–37.3 ° C, irritability. But most often, brucellosis manifests itself more acutely - the temperature rises to 39–40 ° C, a person sweats profusely, chills, sharp pains in muscles and joints, and stiffness appear. The disease is characterized by damage to the osteoarticular apparatus and blood vessels, as well as the NERVOUS SYSTEM.
