
In the first half of the year, exports totaled $ 1.302 billion , up 31% from the previous year. This figure once again places beef ahead of MEAT as the primary EXPORT item.
CHINA was the top destination, with purchases totaling $76 million, up 69% year-on-year. it was followed by the United States with $53 million (down 8%) and the European Union with $49 million (up 94%).
It was the second-largest commodity after soybeans, with sales at peak shipments of US$336 million, down 3% from June 2024 .
Beef has outpaced the meat market, which fell 14% to $189 million in the past month.
Livestock revenue also increased sharply, reaching $50 million compared to $27 million in June 2024, an increase of 82%. Turkey was the top destination with $25 million, followed by the newly opened Israeli market with $15 million. Morocco was the third destination.
According to Uruguay XXI, meat by-products accompanied the growth in demand for meat , with total exports amounting to US$42 million, up 54% compared to last year.
