Ukraine continues to reduce the number of cattle

As of May 1, 2021, the number of cattle (cattle) in Ukraine was estimated at 3.215 million heads, which is 6.5% less than the figure for the same date a year earlier, incl. cows - 1.669 million heads (-5.8%).

This was reported by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

As specified, a decrease in the number of cattle compared to a year ago was recorded both in agricultural enterprises by 1.8% - up to 1.012 million heads, and in households - by 8.4%, up to 2.202 million heads.

In addition, according to the State Statistics Service, the number of sheep and goats in Ukraine at the beginning of this month decreased by 5.3% (to 1.39 million heads), poultry - by 6% (to 195.3 million heads).

At the same time, the number of pigs increased by 2.4% over the year to 5.88 million heads.
