The government of the Tyumen region announced that in 2022 poultry in all municipalities will be vaccinated against bird flu, TASS reports. The vaccination plan includes private households and farms, where a total of 500,000 poultry are kept.

The HEAD of the veterinary department of the Tyumen region, Vadim Shults, said that in 2021, poultry in peasant farms and personal subsidiary plots was not vaccinated in droves - only in the places where foci appeared. The risk of outbreaks of avian influenza remains high and this gap needs to be filled next year.

The decision on general vaccination was made after the outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza at the Borovskaya poultry farm . Since the beginning of the year, the region has lost about 4.3 million head of poultry.

An application for the supply of a vaccine against bird flu at the expense of the federal budget is already ready. The type of drug will be determined after its approval. The vaccination campaign will start in the first quarter of 2022.
