- This situation has not developed today, it has simply become more accessible to citizens due to changes in legislation. Yes, there are cases. Even if one animal carrier is detected in one settlement, according to the new rules, we are obliged to establish restrictive measures, - Vadim Shults, HEAD of the regional veterinary department, explained to the Tyumen Region Today publication.

In general, according to him, among the 80,000 animals that are in local household plots, there are not so many sick individuals. All the necessary measures to correct the situation are carried out within the framework of the law, everything is within the norms. All livestock owners know what they need to do.

During the quarantine period, the enterprises should not be visited by outsiders, except for the staff, sick animals should not be used for offspring, and it is also important to treat all premises, milking machines, etc.

- When a number of certain measures are taken, quarantine can be lifted. The virus-carrying animal is handed over for slaughter to meat processing enterprises. You can use it after heat treatment. For humans, such processed meat is not dangerous, - said the head of the department.

Dairy products of a leukemic cow, as Vadim Schultz specified, also require boiling to eliminate the virus. Otherwise, it can be dangerous to humans. A person does not get sick with a cattle virus, but can weaken his HEALTH.

Open sources of information say that bovine leukemia is a viral disease, most often chronic, with a tumor nature. Most often, high-yielding animals get sick with it, but calves can also get sick. The danger of leukemia is that it can proceed without symptoms for a long time, while a sick individual can infect others in the herd.

Regarding the danger of leukemia for humans, some scientists argue that people are not susceptible to existing strains of bovine leukemia, and to date there has not been a single case of human infection with bovine leukemia. On the other hand, we all know that viruses can mutate, so there is no guarantee that tomorrow it will not become dangerous for any of us.
