The production of the main types of livestock products in the Tomsk region in the first three months of 2021 increased markedly compared to the same period last year
The production of livestock and poultry MEAT increased by 6.3% and amounted to 37.1 tons. Egg production increased by 1.9% and amounted to 27 million eggs. The volume of dairy products produced remained the same and amounted to 32.6 thousand tons.
In parallel, the number of pigs increased by 5.2% (263.1 thousand heads), by 3.2% - poultry (4481 thousand heads), by 1.8% - cows (33.3 thousand heads). The number of sheep and goats decreased by 7.8% and amounted to 22.5 thousand heads. In total, the number of cattle decreased by 0.5%.
Large agricultural organizations acted as the main producers of agricultural products. They accounted for 92% of meat production in the region and 70% of MILK production.
Recall that in the Tomsk region 90% of the pig population is kept in large agricultural enterprises. Cattle are more evenly distributed. About 41% is in agricultural enterprises, 19% - in farms and individual entrepreneurs, another 40% is concentrated in the households.
