The number of cattle continues to decline in Tatarstan

An increase in the number of cows has been recorded. At the end of spring of this year, there were 325 thousand of them on farms of all categories in the republic - 0.9% more than at the end of May 2022.

The number of birds on Tatarstan farms has also increased. At the end of spring, there were 19.1 million animals, which is 0.5% more than in the same period last year.

Compared to the end of May 2022, the number of pigs (-8%), as well as sheep and goats (-1.4%) in farms of all categories in the republic decreased compared to the end of May 2022. Before the start of summer, there were 470.6 thousand and 344.6 thousand, respectively, according to Tatarstanstat data.

Let us recall that at the end of April 2023 in Tatarstan, there were 924.9 thousand heads of cattle on farms of all categories . This is 0.9% lower than the same period last year.
