The Office of ROSSELKHOZNADZOR for the Republic of Tatarstan reported that vaccination against brucellosis is not provided on the territory of the republic.

“According to the results of laboratory studies in samples of biological material taken from cattle belonging to the peasant farm “Skokov N.A.” (Novosheshminsky district, Sloboda Petropavlovskaya village), the causative agent of brucellosis was identified. The diagnosis was established on September 1 by the Tatar testing laboratory of the Federal State Budgetary Institution of the Federal Center for Animal HEALTH,” said  Rosselkhoznadzor of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Currently, specialists from the State Veterinary Service of the Republic of Tatarstan, under the control of Rosselkhoznadzor, are carrying out “a set of organizational, economic and veterinary and sanitary measures aimed at preventing the spread and eliminating foci of brucellosis.” The algorithm of actions in such situations was approved by order of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.

To prevent the reoccurrence and spread of infection, reports the Rosselkhoznadzor of the Republic of Tatarstan, all cattle on the Skokov N.A. farm will be sent to slaughter. Those animals that tested positive for brucellosis were taken to a specialized slaughterhouse located in Dagestan for further processing.

The State Veterinary Service will conduct routine researchfor brucellosis in the endangered area.
