In Tatarstan, 5,456 cows and calves will be destroyed due to an outbreak of brucellosis

The enterprise is forced to liquidate the entire herd - 5,456 head of cattle - and dispose of all the milk . Infected animals will be sent to a specialized meat processing plant in Dagestan, and healthy ones will be sent to a slaughterhouse in Atna, said Gabdulkhak Motygullin, deputy head of the main veterinary department of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan . 

The head of the Department of Agriculture and Food of the Atninsky District of Tatarstan, Lenar Samigullin, noted that this is the first epizootic outbreak of brucellosis in the history of the economy and the first in the region.
