
Sverdlovskstat (a division of Rosstat for the Sverdlovsk and Kurgan regions) published data on the state of animal husbandry in farms of all categories in January 2023. it turned out that over the year in the Sverdlovsk region, the production of livestock and poultry for slaughter decreased by 13.6%.
“In January 2023, compared to 2022, in farms of all categories, the production of livestock and poultry for slaughter in live weight decreased by 13.6%,” the report says. In January, the indicator amounted to 17.8 thousand tons, which is 2.8 thousand tons less than a year earlier.
At the same time, MILK production in the region increased by 3.5% and amounted to 65.6 thousand tons. Also, egg production increased by 4.9% - up to 133 thousand tons.
The number of cattle in farms of all categories increased by 2.9% and reached 261.5 thousand heads at the end of the month. In particular, 117.1 thousand cows (+2.4%), 378.8 thousand pigs (+1.1%). There is also a decrease in the number of sheep and goats by 1.4% - up to 50.3 thousand heads. In addition, a decrease in the number of poultry by 7.1% is recorded - up to 11.7 million heads. Earlier, Pravda UrFO, for example, spoke about the situation at the Reftinskaya poultry farm.
It is noted that the main production of livestock and poultry for slaughter, milk, eggs was concentrated in agricultural organizations. The share of households accounts for 15.7% of livestock production, 8.5% of milk, 0.4% of eggs.
