A development for food preservation won the Skolkovo startup tour

First place in the grand final and the “Biotechnologies in Medicine and Agriculture” direction was taken by the “Plaza Technique” project with technology for food preservation, ensuring their long-term storage without refrigeration. At the same time, the food does not lose its taste, aroma and vitamins. The winner received 300 thousand rubles for the development of the project.

Candidate of Technical Sciences Ivan Shorstky explained that by properly preparing the product for processing, their team saved time while maintaining quality characteristics through the use of low-temperature plasma. A low-current spark discharge gently affects the structure of the material and creates special channels in it through which moisture is more easily removed. The result is savings, preservation of quality and a new consumer look. Qualitative analysis showed that all vitamins, shades of taste and aroma, and bioactive substances of food are preserved.

The Minister of Economic Development of the Rostov Region Maxim Papushenko noted that today this region is rightfully considered one of the leaders in the field of innovative technologies. For several years in a row, the Rostov region has been ranked first in terms of the share of scientific and commercial centers that bring their developments to the market, and second in terms of the innovative activity of organizations. The official operator Skolkovo operates in the region, which makes it possible for aspiring entrepreneurs to obtain resident status of an innovation center without leaving the Rostov region. They are supported in finding partners and provided with tax preferences provided at the federal level.

Second place in the grand final and first in the IT track of the competition was taken by the service for checking information for the accuracy of Internetbezfakekov.RF.

In third place is the TMC-K.Technology project team, which is developing a technology for the production of composites with increased physical and mechanical properties and a fairly low cost of raw materials. They have increased strength, which is very important when constructing buildings, equipment frames and vehicles. The project was recognized as the best in the track of industrial and energy technologies. 

DIRECTOR of the regional development department of the Skolkovo Foundation, Yuri Sibirsky, clarified that there are more than 40 participants in the innovation center in the Rostov region. The educational base is concentrated here and a university infrastructure is being created for the development of technological projects.

Director of the regional operator of the Skolkovo Foundation in the Rostov region, ANO FIRON, Inna Shengof, stated that the startup tour in Rostov-on-Don was not just a useful and necessary event for the development of the innovation ecosystem, but also strategically important. 

Since 2021, when ANO FIRON began to act as the operator of the innovation center, the number of residents in the Rostov region has tripled, to 43. Participants in acceleration programs have attracted 280 million rubles to their projects.

The Skolkovo startup tour takes place in six regions of RUSSIA. Along with Rostov-on-Don, it was hosted by Khanty-Mansiysk, Omsk, Tolyatti, and next in line are Izhevsk (April 27) and Lipetsk (May 16).

The revenue of Skolkovo residents in 2023 increased by 43% compared to 2022 and amounted to 508 billion rubles. As of March 1, 2024 , the number of Skolkovo resident startups exceeded 4,000. The number of jobs in the ecosystem reached 95 thousand.
