During the 42nd week of this year (October 16-22), the average level of wholesale meat prices in the United States decreased by 0.9% compared to the previous week. This is the third week in a row that meat prices have fallen. The annual price decline was 5.4%, which is a significant figure.

It's interesting to note that turkey prices continue to fall. Turkey carcass prices fell 4.2% week over week and 36% year over year. The price of turkey meat increased by 1.9% over the week, but fell by 49% year-on-year. This creates an attractive environment for consumers to enjoy quality meat at lower prices.

Chicken meat also turned out to be more accessible to buyers. The price of a broiler chicken carcass decreased by 0.8%, which is 7% lower than last year. Average prices for chicken meat decreased by 4.4% over the week, but increased by 1.6% over the year. This could be an attractive alternative for those looking for more affordable meat options.

The cost of half-carcass pork also decreased by 2.8% over the week and by 22% compared to the same period last year. This is great news for pork lovers who can enjoy this meat at a better price.

However, unlike other types of meat, beef remains expensive. The price of beef half-carcasses increased by 0.9% over the week and by 26% compared to last year. This can be caused by various factors including supply and demand in the market.

Thus, current changes in U.S. meat prices indicate a variety of options for consumers. While beef is becoming more expensive, other types of meat such asturkey , chicken and pork are offered at lower prices. This opens up new prospects for those who seek to diversify their diet and save on food.
