
Artem Belov, DIRECTOR General of the National Union of MILK Producers, noted that 2023-2024 have become unique for the industry due to a significant increase in household income, which, in turn, increases demand for dairy products by 6%, although commercial milk production is increasing by only 2.5%. Issues were also raised about the growth in the cost of raw materials and finished products, which increased by 12% and 16%, respectively, while prices increased by only 7%.
Sergey Yushin, HEAD of the National MEAT Association, emphasized the success of the meat industry in freeing itself from import dependence: over 20 years , meat imports have decreased more than fourfold, while exports have increased 20 times. Dmitry Aveltsov from the Center for Agroanalytics of the Ministry of Agriculture of RUSSIA reported that global milk production in 2024 is approaching one billion tons, where Russia ranks seventh in terms of growth.
Pallavi Sanjay Vyas of Sharta Farms shared forecasts for the Indian dairy industry to grow by 14% annually in the coming years, driven by new niche products and changing consumer expectations. In turn, conference participants noted the importance of laboratory diagnostics and genetic research to improve the quality and productivity of milk and meat in the country.
