The number of MEAT cattle is actively increasing in the Serdobsky district of the Penza region. Serdobchane go for fresh meat to the local chain of farm shops. All products are grown on Serdobskaya land.
“I am a regular customer of this store, because I know that organic meat is grown here, which is grown on our own subsidiary farm,” said Svetlana Samokhvalova, a resident of Serdobsk.
“Products that you know how to grow, you boldly sell it. They don’t eat anything except hay, water and mixed fodder, grain, we try to make the quality the best,” added the seller Dmitry Romanov.
The village of Meshcherskoye became a center for the production of beef largely thanks to Jamal Yuzbashyan. In the early 1990s, he moved here from Armenia, more precisely from the Ararat Valley. And in 2000, he organized a peasant farm and bought the ruined farm of the former collective farm.
“There was nothing here, we built everything, we did everything, only the walls were standing,” said Jamal Yuzbashyan, HEAD of the KFH.
Some of the cows on the farm were kept for dairy purposes, and some for meat. It was decided to switch completely to meat production in 2016. The peasant farm of Jamal Yuzbashyan received state support - 7 million rubles for the construction of a modern workshop for slaughtering livestock and primary meat processing. Profitability has improved significantly.
It is here that grown cattle are now brought to the slaughter. Representatives of shops also came here for high-quality meat and semi-finished products. Now the main task is to increase the livestock. We are currently building a second barn for 200 heads. The work will be completed by September.
Three years ago, Jamal bought cows of the Kazakh white-headed breed, which is valued for its good meat quality, high weight gain and unpretentiousness. In three years, the breeding stock has grown from 35 to 120. Since the beginning of the year, 80 calves have appeared here. The forage base is also being increased. Jamal has 400 hectares of land. And they are no longer enough, every year he puts into circulation about 40 hectares of fallow lands, as a rule, these are areas overgrown with birches.
“From feed we have barley, wheat. Oats were not sown this year, there are not enough fields. We will buy oats,” said the head of the peasant farm Jamal Yuzbashyan.
Soon the number of beef cattle on the pastures near the village of Meshcherskoye will grow again. Another head of the local peasant farm is Tamazik Romanov. He received a grant of about 9 million rubles to support family farms.
“Also last year, Jamal's nephew received a grant for beef cattle breeding, which will be implemented this year. Breeding cattle are being prepared at the farms, and they will be delivered in autumn. The equipment has already been delivered under the grant,” said Aleksey Levin, Head of the Department of Agriculture of the Serdobsky District Administration.
Thanks to such examples of successful farming, the village of Meshcherskoye is becoming another major center of beef cattle breeding in the Penza region.
