As we reported last week, the identification of an epizootic focus was preceded by the hospitalization of a man with suspected anthrax. The diagnosis is confirmed. According to the ROSSELKHOZNADZOR , the current patient of the infectious diseases hospital in Kyzyl was visiting a friend and participated in the forced slaughter of a horse that had convulsions and swelling in the chest and inguinal parts of the body. The by-products of the animal were eaten.

In the parking lot where the sick horse was kept, there were more than a hundred unvaccinated animals: 74 horses, 34 heads of cattle and two heads of small ruminants. Six people live there permanently, including four children. All of them are under medical supervision and take antibacterial drugs. Disinfection was carried out at the site where the animal was slaughtered and at the place where the infected MEAT was stored.

The veterinary service of Tuva examined all animals and organized the vaccination of all individuals susceptible to anthrax to prevent the spread of infection. They have no clinical signs of the disease. The only buyer of infected horse meat from the city of Ak-Dovurak voluntarily gave the meat to employees of the Rosselkhoznadzor. After a laboratory study , it was burned, like the entire batch confiscated from the owners of the parking lot.
