With the support of regional authorities, renovated agricultural enterprises are ensuring the region's food security.
In the Novosibirsk Region, 2.35 billion rubles have been invested in the reconstruction of the Chikskaya Poultry Farm. According to the regional government press service, the project will create 91 jobs. In mid-July, the investment project was approved at a meeting of the Investment Council under Governor Andrei Travnikov.
The reconstruction period is scheduled for 2030. According to the poultry farm's director, Andrei Bil, the reconstruction is being carried out in stages without interrupting the main production line. Annual production volumes remain stable: 300-320 million eggs, approximately 1,000 tons of poultry meat, and up to 100 tons of egg powder.
Last year, a modular boiler house was commissioned at the poultry farm, and this spring, the first two buildings for rearing young birds were occupied. Each building can accommodate 75,000 birds. In July, another building for holding young birds and a building for laying hens were commissioned. Design work on a new egg storage facility began in 2024 , with commissioning scheduled for 2025. Three more buildings will be commissioned by the end of this year, and the renovation of one will be completed. "Today, we saw that these aren't just plans and expectations, but a project that is already being realized in the form of hardware and concrete economic and production indicators. The poultry farm is being reborn: new buildings, new equipment. What's very pleasing is that it's entirely Russian-made. From the screw to the computer, everything was made in Russia," said Governor Andrei Travnikov during an off-site meeting at the poultry farm. According to the regional government, the region's self-sufficiency in food eggs reached 126.4% in 2023. Overall, the Novosibirsk Region enjoys a surplus in poultry production: surplus eggs and poultry meat are exported to other regions of the Russian Federation and neighboring countries. Poultry farming enterprises receive support under the regional state program "Development of Agriculture and Regulation of Agricultural Products, Raw Materials, and Food Markets."
