New outbreak of African swine fever registered in Primorsky Krai

In Primorsky Krai, an epizootic focus of ASF was registered in a population of wild boars.

The infected animal was found after the shooting of wild boars in the hunting farm "Tigrovoe" in the Mikhailovsky district. The presence of ASF virus DNA in the tissues of a killed wild boar was confirmed by the protocol for examining samples at the Primorsky Interregional Veterinary Laboratory of ROSSELKHOZNADZOR dated March 10, 2021.

The hunting area has been quarantined. Within a radius of 10 kilometers around the detected outbreak, hunting, the movement of pigs, as well as the import and EXPORT of pork that has not undergone heat treatment, are prohibited.

Earlier, on March 1, the HEAD of the state veterinary inspection of the Primorsky Territory, Dmitry Kuzin, reported that there were no active outbreaks of ASF in the region. The last two outbreaks in the TIS public organization of hunters and fishermen wild in the forest (Olginsky district) and in the Poltavsky reserve in the Ussuriysk urban district and the Oktyabrsky municipal district of Primorsky Krai were eliminated in February.
