Quarantine declared in Novosibirsk due to mass infection of sheep with brucellosis

In response to the situation, the regional Veterinary Department introduced quarantine measures. Brucellosis poses a threat not only to animals, but also to humans, causing a variety of symptoms, including fever and damage to various body systems, especially the musculoskeletal system. The main sources of infection are small and large cattle , as well as pigs.

Pregnant and lambing animals are especially dangerous, as the pathogen is excreted with the placenta and amniotic fluid. Humans can become infected with animals during slaughter or through MILK and MEAT . Brucella remains active even when frozen, but dies when boiled.
