Quarantine for rabies has been announced in two private farms in Makeevka and Mospino, as well as for African swine fever (ASF) - in the Snezhnyanskaya penal colony. The relevant orders of the Acting HEAD of the DPR Denis Pushilin No. 38, 39 and 40 today, March 9, were published on his official website.

Decree No. 39 designated a subsidiary farm at 2 Lugovaya Street in Makeevka as an epizootic focus — a source of the infectious agent. Order No. 40 - along Partizanskaya street, 26a in Mospino. The boundaries of disadvantaged areas are set within a radius of 500 meters from the boundaries of the outbreak. Quarantine has been established since January 31 for a period of 60 calendar days.

In addition, the head of the Republic decided (Decree No. 38) to establish a quarantine for African swine fever in the Snezhnyanskaya penal colony. The epizootic focus is marked within a radius of 200 meters in the village of Gornyatskoye, along Tsentralnaya Street, 10, the threatened zone is within a radius of 5 km from the outbreak, the observation zone is within a radius of 10 km. The measures are set from January 27 this year until further notice.

Previously, rabies quarantine was announced in the villages near Volnovakha and Starobeshevo.

Rabies is a dangerous viral disease characterized by severe damage to the central NERVOUS SYSTEM (brain and spinal cord). At the initial stage, it is asymptomatic, symptoms appear at a late stage, when treatment is no longer possible. The prevalence of rabies depends on the degree of vaccination of pets.

African swine fever is a particularly dangerous, highly contagious, viral disease. It affects wild and domestic pigs of all breeds and ages at any time of the year. The disease is highly lethal, spreads rapidly and causes great material damage to agriculture. Up to 100 percent of sick animals die.
