The Ministry of Agriculture said that the rise in prices for socially important products is below inflation

Over the past month, prices for cucumbers, tomatoes , carrots , and apples have decreased. The price of wheat has dropped. This was facilitated by active grain harvesting , five times ahead of the 2023 schedule.

In this regard, bread prices remain virtually unchanged. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, non-perishable wheat FLOUR products are sold on average by manufacturers at a price of 64.52 rubles per kilogram. it is expected that this trend will continue in the future, the department emphasized.

Over the month, chicken MEAT fell in price by 2.5%, and chicken eggs by 1.3% and 5.9% for the first and second categories, respectively. The ministry noted that the poultry industry is being modernized, production volumes are growing, and therefore the cost of production is decreasing.

Earlier, Rosstat stated that during the week from July 23 to July 29, 2024 , inflation in the consumer market slowed to 0.08%. In the food products sector, the decline in prices for fruits and vegetables accelerated, while for other goods their growth slowed down.

Inflation in annual terms dropped by 0.07 percentage points. to 9.11%, but has increased slightly since the beginning of the year: from 4.91% to 4.99%.
