Mato Grosso to host World Meat Congress, organized by the International Meat Secretariat

The event will bring together representatives from more than 20 countries, strengthening Mato Grosso's strategic role in the global MEAT market.

The choice of Cuiabá as the location for the WMC is a direct result of Imac’s international promotion of Mato Grosso beef. In May, representatives of the institute and the Secretary of State for Economic Development, César Miranda, who also chairs Imac’s advisory board, carried out a mission to the Netherlands, Belgium and France. The agenda included meetings with government officials and business leaders in the sector, where topics such as sustainability, quality and traceability of beef produced in the state were discussed.

The World Meat Congress, organised every two years by the International Meat Secretariat, has previously been held in the United States , Argentina, Uruguay and the Netherlands.

Besides Imac, the only national organization participating in the event will be Abiec (Brazilian Association of Meat Industry Companies).
