Quarantine is declared in the peasant farm of the Surgut region due to African plague 

In the peasant farm "Kapsamun" of the Surgut region, the loss of pigs began. Presumably, the animals could become infected with African plague. Specialists of the veterinary service took the necessary samples and sent them to Moscow for analysis. The result of the study will be known on November 19.

On the territory of the farm there are specialists of the state veterinary supervision, the territory is fenced, and in the future entry and exit will be prohibited. There are 6 workers on site who are disinfecting the farm premises, and letters have been sent to retail outlets stating that the farmer's products may pose a threat in order to remove them from the shelves. Once the disease is confirmed, all animals on the farm will be disposed of accordingly.

According to ROSSELKHOZNADZORAfrican swine fever is a contagious septic disease of domestic pigs, including ornamental pigs, and wild boars. The incubation period of the disease is from 3 to 15 days, and mortality can reach 100%. In RUSSIA, African swine fever has been registered since 2007. According to experts, this disease is not dangerous for humans.
