In Kostroma Oblast, food production increased by 5.6%

In January-June 2024 , compared to the same period last year, the Kostroma region increased food production by 5.6%.

An intensive increase in volumes from January to June — 1.7 times compared to the same period last year — was recorded by analysts in the production of cattle and pork. The region's enterprises produced about 3 thousand tons of pork and more than 270 tons of beef in 6 months. At present, AO Shuvalovo is intensively restoring volumes and increasing the number of farm animals. A new dairy farm has been launched by OOO Ladygino in the Galichsky District. Poultry production
has demonstrated an 11% increase . Since the beginning of the year, factories have produced more than 2 thousand tons of the product. In particular, the autonomous poultry complex of AO Galichskoye Po Potitsevodstvu is increasing its capacity. The enterprise invested funds attracted with the assistance of the region within the framework of a preferential loan under a joint program of the Ministry of Agriculture of RUSSIA and Rosselkhozbank in expanding production. Last year, the agricultural producer received about 4 million rubles in compensation for part of the costs of purchasing machinery and equipment. Sausage production continues to show positive dynamics. The largest contribution to the growth of indicators is provided by Start LLC, Shuvalovo JSC and the Kostroma Meat-Packing Plant . The development of our own raw material base also contributes to the expansion of MEAT processing. The number of pigs in the region's farms has increased by 16.8% since the beginning of the year. MILK production in the Kostroma Region has increased by 27% compared to last year's volumes . The production of sour cream, butter and cottage cheese has also increased. With the support of the region, Ladygino LLC in the Galich District is modernizing its production facilities, and a robotic farm for 300 heads has been launched by Voskresenye Agro LLC in the Buysky District. The industry stimulates the emergence of new processing industries. In June, the Galich CHEESE FACTORY resumed operations after a long break. The investor has already invested more than 30 million rubles in equipping the enterprise.
