The need to amend the law is due to the abolition of state supervision in the field of livestock breeding by federal legislation. The corresponding bill was presented today at committees in the State Council of the Komi Republic by the Minister of Agriculture and Consumer Market Denis Sharonov, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation reported.
In his speech, D. Sharonov noted that today the federal legislation requires the presence of state bodies for the management of livestock breeding in the territory of a constituent entity of the Russian Federation.
The draft law proposes to designate as such a body the regional Ministry of Agriculture, which includes the state breeding service of the Komi Republic. it is represented by specialists from the department for the development of agro-industrial complex of the ministry and the republican enterprise "Komi" for breeding work.
Today, the service issues certificates within the framework of the state service, which give the right to breeding farms to sell breeding animals and their semen to commercial and peasant farms of the republic; maintains the state register of pedigree livestock and evaluates the pedigree and productive qualities of animals. The data is sent to a single federal breeding center.
“All information is available for commercial and peasant farms, which helps them choose the breeding animal that is suitable for their productivity parameters,” the minister explained.
