The general situation with ASF and the reasons for the spread of the virus were discussed yesterday at a meeting of the anti-epizootic commission. Sergey Sokolovsky, Chairman of the Veterinary Committee under the Government of the Kaluga Region, reported that another outbreak was registered in the Dzerzhinsky District on July 12.
The genetic material of the ASF virus was found in the tissues of dead animals. All other pigs in the PSF are also infected. The owner did not comply with elementary veterinary rules from the content. The entry of the virus into the farm was the result of contact between domestic pigs and wild boars.
