The first GM lamb has been created in Spain.

"The Teodoro lamb contains a mutation in a gene potentially involved in fertilization and will be used to study reproductive disorders in farm animals and as a model for understanding the fertilization process in humans," the statement said.

According to researcher Pablo Bermejo-Álvarez, GM animals are essential for expanding our understanding of any biological process. Genetic modification eliminates or modifies a specific gene , allowing us to definitively determine its function in a biological process.
