Eight foci of dermatitis nodosa in livestock were identified in the Irkutsk region

In all settlements where a disease dangerous to animals was discovered, a state of emergency was introduced. This was reported by the press service of the Irkutsk region administration.

Possible foci of infection are located in six more settlements in the region: Taiturka, Tikhonova Pad, Stolbova, Granovshchina, Kuda, Khomutovo. Specialists took samples, information about sick animals is being clarified.

Work continues on vaccination of cattle and small livestock. As of February 25, more than 12,600 animals were vaccinated. Activities are underway to dispose of sick animals. Disinfection barriers have been put up at exits from populated areas, police and veterinary posts are in place to prevent the EXPORT of animals, MILK and MEAT from contaminated areas.

Residents are advised to adhere to preventive measures: do not visit possible and active foci of the disease, and be attentive to the behavior of animals in their private farms. If there are signs of disease in livestock, you should immediately contact specialists from the relevant services.
